From your Mac, to your iPad. MacView lets you see, hear, and control your Mac from your iPad. Install the free MacView Host companion on your Mac, pair your devices, and connect directly. • View your Mac desktop and choose an available display. • Stream your Mac’s system audio to your iPad and mute it with the speaker control. • Adjust picture quality for your connection. • Control your Mac with touch, pointer clicks, scrolling, and a software or external keyboard. • Use Mac keyboard shortcuts and quick actions. • Transfer text between your Mac and iPad with manual clipboard controls. • Connect over your local network or your own trusted private VPN. MacView uses an encrypted, direct connection. No MacView account or subscription is required. Requirements MacView requires iPadOS 17 or later and a Mac running macOS 14 or later. The free MacView Host companion must be installed and running in a logged-in Mac session. System audio requires MacView Host 1.0 build 5 or later. Grant Screen & System Audio Recording permission (called Screen Recording on some versions) to share your desktop and system audio, and Accessibility permission to control your Mac. Nearby discovery requires both devices on the same local network. Connections from elsewhere require your own private VPN and a configured private address. Your Mac must remain awake and accessible. Microphone audio, protected content, and file transfer are not included.
