Description

Secure communication for verified Australian clinicians. Synapse is a communication platform built by Australian healthcare practitioners, for Australian healthcare practitioners. It facilitates communication between multidisciplinary clinicians working across multiple sites, and every user is verified against the AHPRA public register before they can send a single message. Why Synapse exists Clinical communication in the perioperative space is fragmented. Anaesthetists, surgeons, nurses, and coordinators are spread across consumer messaging apps, SMS, phone tag, and paper lists. Those consumer tools were designed for social use. They were not designed to handle health information under the Australian Privacy Principles, and using them for clinical coordination exposes both patients and practitioners to avoidable risk. Synapse is designed from the ground up for the way independent clinical practitioners actually work. One place, across every site you work Independent practitioners rarely work in one building. Anaesthetists and surgeons move between hospitals and day surgeries, coordinating with different teams at each. Synapse gives independent practitioners a single secure platform for that coordination, rather than a separate channel for every site. • Multidisciplinary threads spanning anaesthetics, surgery, nursing, and coordination • Consistent coordination across the sites an independent practitioner works • Verified colleagues stay reachable wherever you are working that day Built for verified clinicians • AHPRA registration verified at onboarding • Identity confirmed before access is granted • You always know who you are talking to Designed with privacy at the centre • Media captured in-app and sandboxed — never saved to your camera roll • Automated de-identification prompts on send • Encryption in transit and at rest • Biometric app lock • Built to support obligations under the Privacy Act and the Australian Privacy Principles Made for perioperative teams • Secure 1:1 and group messaging • Purpose-built anaesthesia and periop shorthand Built by people who do this work Synapse was designed by practising Australian anaesthetists who understand how periop teams communicate, paired with best-in-class engineering. It is not a generic messaging product with a healthcare label on it. Important Synapse is a communication tool for clinicians and clinical teams. It is not a medical record. Any clinical information discussed on Synapse must be transcribed to the patient’s official medical record. Synapse is intended to complement, not replace, the communication systems and policies of the facilities where you work. Practitioners employed by a hospital or health service should use Synapse consistent with their employer’s policies.
