Description

Voltcanopy is a system-level power-tree planner for embedded engineers, electronics designers, robotics teams, students, and technical reviewers. Build your source, regulators, and loads as a tree and see where every watt goes, on iPhone and iPad, fully offline. REAL CONVERTER MATH - Buck, boost, and buck-boost stages: input power = output power ÷ efficiency + Vin × quiescent current - LDO and linear regulators: input current = output current + Iq, dissipation = (Vin − Vout) × Iout + Vin × Iq - Load switches: I × R drop and I² × R dissipation - Child rails roll up into their parents, so every conversion loss is counted once - Voltage-headroom checks per topology (dropout for bucks and LDOs, step-up direction for boosts) LOAD CASES AND MARGINS - Average case from active current, duty cycle, and standby current - Coincident-peak case for sizing regulators and the source - Per-rail current use against your limit, with a design margin you set (80 % by default) - Junction estimate from dissipation and θJA, with a thermal margin - System efficiency, delivered power, total conversion loss, and source-limit use - Battery runtime from capacity and usable share STARTUP AND INRUSH - Power-up sequence from parent rails, start-after dependencies, delays, and soft-start ramps - Capacitor inrush (C × V ÷ ramp time) on every rail - Source current step chart through startup against your source limit - Flags loops, missing dependencies, and rails that exceed their limit while starting PROJECTS, REPORTS, AND BACKUP - Unlimited projects: new, duplicate, and an editable sample edge controller - PDF report with system totals, per-rail results, loads, startup, and findings - Rail and load tables as CSV for spreadsheets - Full JSON backup and import (version 1 exports import too) - Built-in guide to every method and formula Everything included with one purchase. No subscription, account, ads, analytics, tracking, or network access. Voltcanopy is a first-pass architecture and documentation tool. Confirm regulator limits, transient behavior, component derating, sequencing, layout, thermal paths, protection, fault response, and measurements against current datasheets and qualified engineering review.
