I wish the programmer had included a way to utilize the contact data to the pump vendors so clicking on the vendor’s phone number could initiate either a call or text message and clicking on their email would launch the start of sending the vendor an email.

Had issues with the app from the beginning not being able to setup the devices. Was finally able to set it up through the manual setup. That lasted for a little bit until I had to set it up again since nothing was showing when I opened the app. Have to set up everything at least 2-3 times a month, every month since then. Not sure what’s the point of an app to monitor my sump pump if I have to worry if it will even work or tell me if the sump pump is not working. Also wish it would save the settings so I didn’t have to load all the passwords and settings every time.

The reports it makes go to engineer who designed the new drainage system, the contractor that built it, and our attorney. Its function, reliability, and real time monitoring has made a real solution possible at our place. Oh, and we’re dry.

But the latest release fixed all the bugs. It’s so great to have a live view of my sump pumps from anywhere in the world. These pumps are rockstars. I called Richtech a few times for short and they were phenomenal. This is like the Sonos of sump pumps. Very modern. Love it.

Like clockwork it stops working every month or so and I have to delete the app and reinstall it. My first Sump “lid” was defective. After getting a new one, there is no way to delete the old one from the app, so I show two units in my app. There is no way to clear the alert number bubble on the icon as far as I can tell. My icon has a permanent 5 on it at the moment from the times the internet went out. This number is sure to climb in the future! Sometimes when you open the app it doesn’t show my sump. I have to close the app and reopen two or three times for my sump to show up. If you try to use the app off site, say while you are at work, most times the app won’t work. Sometimes you need to delete and reinstall for it to work once you get back home. In six months there has been zero app updates.

It would provide a lot of peace of mind to the many homeowners who have entrusted their basement to this company. However, they do not spend enough time and effort in making sure the app actually functions properly. It routinely has problems, maintaining connections with its equipment, freezes, requires resetting, loses connection to it equipment, etc. I can’t imagine that would be very hard to update the app and make it do what it was supposed to do.

My basement flooded last year, and I had my old pump replaced with the PitBoss plus. I can see it anytime I look at the app when it’s running.
