Not worth it

I can lock the door from the couch or bedroom. Cons: #1. Inadequate, does not verify lock status before engaging "lock" and "unlock mode". Ex. If I want to lock the door (I don't know if it's already locked) so I push "lock" and away it goes gears screeching trying to lock a door which is already locked. #2. It is not designed for US doors and requires severe modification. #3. Install took over 2 hours with modification to US door. I did not want to cut my original deadbolt. #4. Manual mode (the ability to unlock the door by hand) is unusable with my modification. I had to create a bumper between the lock and door using both mounting plates the company provided and the adapter and for whatever reason this has resulted in the manual function to dis fiction. #5. Auto unlock does not adequately work. Upon approaching my door it does not detect and unlock as promised. #6. "Auto" mode has too many glitches. So I turned it off. The app works by electronically pinging to the lock every few minutes and what happen to me was every time it would ping it would "auto lock". It didn't matter where I was located, in the house or not. I couldn't leave my phone on the entry table near the door without it trying to "auto" lock/unlock the door. #7. The web site says you can create e-keys and control the time of access. This is untrue! You can send e-keys but you can't control the time of access or set the key to expire. #8. If you send e-keys the recipient must have the app installed on their PHONE. I hope that these issues resolve with the addition of a z-wave hub.

My entire family has the app and we no longer run around like crazy looking for keys on the way out the door, just grab our phones and go! Auto Unlock and Knock to Unlock are great options when your hands are full and the phone is in your bag or pocket. I haven’t had the chance to share a key yet, but the feature will come in handy for the dog walker and visitors.

All the other features like firmware upgrades, calibration, user management etc are highly appreciated! Keep up the good work guys! HomeKit integration would be a great feature in the future, but right now I’m quite happy I found the App.

eBay

Danalock V2- I bought on eBay for next to nothing. The adapter plate had to be adjusted for my lock, but done is done. The lock is awesome! Great construction. ...Danalock V2- I bought on eBay for next to nothing. The adapter plate had to be adjusted for my lock, but done is done. The lock is awesome! Great construction. The app works great. I learned that if you manually touch the back momentarily, it locks. If you hold your finger to the back, then let go, it opens. Auto open/close depends if you have left the area, then come back. You’ll know if you enabled notifications. Can’t beat the price. Very happy with my V2.
