Description

Minimal Expense: Travel, Split — daily, travel and shared ledgers in one app. And when you're done logging, a finance report written just for you. ■ Journal design - Warm paper tones, a terracotta seal, soft Japanese-inspired colors, dark mode retuned page by page. Logging feels like keeping a quiet journal. ■ Everyday logging & splitting - Custom categories and payment methods: your own colors and icons; cash, card and e-payments tallied separately. - Recurring entries: set rent, subscriptions, salary or that annual insurance once, and they post themselves — monthly, quarterly, half-yearly or yearly. - Income and expenses tallied separately, with a budget that shows what's left. - Everyday splitting: no trip needed — build a dinner or household event and add saved contacts as a group in one tap. - Multiple accounts & net worth: bank, cash and e-payments tracked apart. Transfers never count as spending, and the main ledger shows total and net worth at a glance. ■ Why Minimal Expense? - Three kinds of ledger, kept apart: daily, travel and shared each get their own book. Trip expenses file themselves. - Split with companions: who paid, how to split, who's in — three taps. Settlement reports work out who owes whom; mark as settled and share. - Treemap charts: the bigger the block, the more you spent. Understand your spending at a glance. - Multi-currency with locked-in rates: log in local currency abroad; the exchange rate is locked at entry time, so reports never shift. - Voice logging: "Lunch ramen 250" — one sentence logs category and amount. Works offline, completely free. - Transaction search: notes, categories, payment methods, amounts — find any entry in seconds. - Daily reminder + streak: a gentle knock each day to keep the habit going. ■ Weekly, monthly and yearly reports (Premium) - Weekly report: appears by itself every Monday — where last week went, how many days you logged. No waiting for month end. - Monthly Report: published on the 1st — spending trend, category ranking, a rhythm calendar, and a one-line summary. - Year in Review: a once-a-year page-flip ritual — seasons, top categories, records — shareable as a beautiful card. - Insights: see where you are this month (compared with the same day in your own past months, not with strangers), and which charges are still due before month end. - Trip Recap & Trip Report: statistics and share cards worth keeping. ■ Shared ledgers: one book, two people - Send a link and you're in: family, a friend, or your partner. No account, no friend requests. - Every entry shows who logged it, and syncs over iCloud to both phones. - Shared money is kept apart: it never mixes into your own ledger, so your reports and budget stay as clean as before. - Shared fund: each put some in, then spend from it — or let one person pay first and settle later. ■ Built for travel - Trip list: ongoing, upcoming, and finished trips at a glance; keep multiple trips. - Pre-trip expenses: log flights and hotels before departure for complete trip costs. - Travel footprint map: countries and cities light up on the map with per-trip spending (Premium). - Currency converter: quick conversions on the road, cached for offline use. ■ Subscription - Free: full main ledger + 1 travel ledger + 1 shared ledger + 1 account + splitting & settlement + voice logging + ledger search + charts. No ads. - Premium: weekly reports, monthly reports, year in review, insights, trip recap & footprint map, unlimited travel and shared ledgers, unlimited accounts, iCloud backup, export (CSV / JSON / PDF). - 3-day free trial; monthly or yearly (yearly saves more), cancel anytime in Settings. ■ Contact - Website: https://www.miniexpense.com - Privacy Policy: https://www.miniexpense.com/privacy-policy - Terms of Use (EULA): https://www.miniexpense.com/eula Thank you for choosing Minimal Expense — let's keep daily, travel and shared spending clear, together.

A user wrote in to ask how to log card installments. I thought about it for a long time, and the answer is: count the money once, and let the app handle the statement. Also, the details you tap into now float up as a card, and the Inkfolk have brought cats and dogs. * Card details now have "Pay this statement in installments": the whole statement, part of it, or just the purchases you pick. Choose how many installments, add interest or a fee if there is one, and it works out what's due each time. If your bank's numbers differ, change them to match. Each plan is a row of stamps, one per installment; to finish early, tap "Pay off the rest at once". * When you add or edit an entry in your main ledger and pick a card from Cards & Loans as the payment method, an "Installments" row appears right below, so you can split it on the spot. * Nothing is counted twice: what you logged on the day you swiped stays logged once, and installments only change what each statement asks for. The only new spending is interest and fees, logged automatically on the 1st of each month; if both are 0, nothing extra appears. * A purchase you split on the spot counts one installment a month in your main ledger, Analysis, Budget and weekly and monthly reports. It carries a small "Installment" tag showing which installment it is and the total. * Card settings now have "Due day each month" and "Pay the card from". Choose Autopay and, on the due day, it's taken from that account on its own; choose Pay myself and tap "Pay this bill" when it's time. * For cards in Cards & Loans, your account doesn't drop on the day you swipe: when you add an entry, the account row says "Taken when you pay the card". The money leaves your account on the day you pay the card, and only once. And a card payment doesn't count as spending. * From the statement date, a stamp appears next to the big number: "Due" until you pay, "Paid" once you have. Tapped by mistake? Just tap "Mark as unpaid". * In Overview and Cards & Loans, each card now has two columns, "Last statement" and "This cycle". Tap a column to open that statement. Overview counts what you've spent but not yet paid, and installments still to come, as debt. * For a little while after updating, the last statement will say "From before the update · nothing to pay here": that one was logged the old way, and your account was charged back then. After your next statement date, the stamp shows up. * The details you tap into now float up as a card on the page. In your main ledger, tapping a category in "Spending Distribution", or "Total Expense" or "Total Income", opens a ledger page; in a trip, tapping a day in "Daily Spending", a category in "Spending Distribution" or "Trip Expense" opens a ticket stub. Filters and swipe left are still there. In the main ledger's cards, trip entries carry a small "Trip · name" tag. * When there are lots of categories, the small ones gather into one "N more" tile at the bottom right; tap it for the list. Every tile has the category icon, its name and the amount in big numbers, and every tile can be tapped. * "Trip expenses" in your main ledger is now one line per trip: flag, name, dates, number of entries and how much you spent. "Include trip expenses" becomes a stamp switch. * Cats and dogs drawn with the Inkfolk's own pen can now be avatars: the sticker book has a new "Pets" page with 18 cats and 18 dogs, and two of the cats are drawn from my own. You can pick them for your owner's seal too. In dark mode the stickers turn a warm beige, and so do the Inkfolk. That's all for now. I'm off to check my own credit card statement.
