Beacon - Drop In

drop in. show up. make it happen. Beacon is the campus social layer for UH students. Drop a "Beacon" — a time-limited event — and watch your people show up in real time. WHETHER YOU'RE HOSTING OR DISCOVERING • Browse live and upcoming events by vibe: Chill, Good Vibes, or Hype • Filter by category — Food, Study, Social, Tech, Sports, Grind • See what's popping within walking distance of wherever you are on campus DROP A BEACON IN 30 SECONDS Name it, set the time, pick your vibe, and drop it. Beacon handles the rest — nearby students get notified and can RSVP instantly. No group chat needed. KEEP IT PRIVATE OR GO PUBLIC Friends Only mode lets you lock down your event behind an invite link. Share it to your group chat — only people with the link can join. Or go fully public and let the algorithm bring your people to you. SHOW UP AND CONNECT Check in when you arrive and let the host know you're there. After the event, give props to someone who made it — hype, smooth operator, cozy vibes, connector, or scholar. It all lives on your profile. BUILT FOR COUGARS Beacon is exclusively for University of Houston students. Your UH or CougarNet email is your key in. UH COUGAR CONNECT — find your people, drop your plans, make it happen.
