ShiftLife is a shift planner for Canadian healthcare shift workers — built first for Manitoba nurses, around the collective agreement you actually work under. Plenty of apps can tell you when you're working. ShiftLife estimates what it pays, and shows you where the number came from. WHAT IT DOES • Your rotation, laid out. Build a 12-hour, 10-hour or 7.75-hour line once and project it months forward. Four presets, or build your own cycle up to 42 days. • Pay you can check. Every figure is an itemised estimate that cites the article it comes from — evening, night and weekend premiums, ICU, emergency and triage, reassignment, overtime, worked holidays, stat holiday pay and sick calls. • Time off counted in your shifts. Vacation, lieu, overtime and sick balances are worked out from your schedule and shown as a number of your own shifts, not the agreement's 7.75-hour days. • Rest rules watched for you. A warning before you take a shift that leaves too little rest, or takes you past the sixteen-hour ceiling. • Alarms that actually wake you. They sound through silent mode and Focus — which is the whole problem when you've silenced your phone to sleep before nights. • Shift types you control. Name your own lines and give each its own colour, symbol and calendar badge. Colour is never the only signal. • Your calendar alongside your shifts. Read-only: your shifts are never written into your personal calendar, and your events never count towards your hours or pay. • Widgets, a Lock Screen countdown while you're on shift, and an Apple Watch app. • Ask Siri. "When's my next shift in ShiftLife", what you work on a given day, or your hours this pay period. Siri says hours, never pay. • A team calendar, in preview. Publish a read-only calendar to colleagues over your own private iCloud share, and see calendars shared with you. Opt-in, field by field, and never your pay or your notes. • Built for accessibility: VoiceOver, Dynamic Type to the largest sizes, Reduce Motion, Reduce Transparency, and contrast tested to WCAG AA. BEFORE YOU START Pay figures are estimates for planning, not payroll. They come from the 2024–2028 Manitoba health agreements — MNU Central Table, MAHCP provincial, and the CUPE Health Care Master Agreement, with the WRHA wage grid for nursing rates — but acting pay, responsibility pay, market adjustments and your employer's own rounding all move a real cheque. Check anything that matters against your pay statement. The contract rules currently cover Manitoba's three health-sector agreements; pick yours during setup. Elsewhere the app still works as a schedule, alarm and hours tracker, without the pay and compliance engine. Your schedule stays on your device. There's no account, no ads, no analytics and no tracking, and nothing is uploaded unless you publish a team calendar yourself. When you do, you review the exact fields first and they go to your own private iCloud share; your pay figures and shift notes are never included, and Settings › Privacy & Data unpublishes and cleans up. Deleting the app deletes your local data — but not a calendar you've already published to iCloud, so unpublish or run Delete All first if you're leaving. Please don't put patient names or identifiers in shift notes. The app warns you about this. Notes are not a clinical record and aren't built to be one.
