Description

Blyv Zmvyn is a specialist workbench for anyone who designs, carves, traces, or documents repeating ornamental bands — the stepped geometric patterns found on stone walls, plinths, door surrounds, and architectural friezes from antiquity to the present day. At the heart of the app is the Bench: tap cells on a squared grid to draw your module, and the engine instantly classifies it into one of the seven mathematical frieze symmetry groups, calculates its repeat period, ground ratio, groove run per metre, and corner return verdict. Nine structural and material faults are checked automatically, each with a plain-English fix. Save finished work as numbered Plates — a permanent record with setting-out notes, a site photograph slot, and a full export image. The Atlas gives you twenty canonical band families — single key, running key, step spiral, battlement, chevron fret, and more — organized into four registers with live-rendered strip previews, difficulty ratings, suited grounds, and editorial notes written in the voice of the craft. The Trace screen lets you photograph a carved band in the field, overlay the grid, trace it cell by cell, and rank all twenty families by match percentage. The Register dashboard shows your collection as charts, coverage grids, and sparkline rows so you can see what you have mastered and what you have not yet cut. Eight material grounds — sandstone, limestone, stucco, jade, shell, terracotta, cedar, and gold sheet — each carry their own hardness, suited groove profiles, required tools, and material-specific fault warnings. Six groove profiles cover V-groove, U-channel, flat sinkage, raised fillet, chamfered step, and double sunk, each with a depth ratio, shadow description, and run-factor multiplier. Everything works offline. No account required.
