Description

Have you ever wondered what books your friends are reading? And suddenly when you stumble over it while having a chat you are amazed that you actually like the same books? Virtual Bookshelf makes it easy to see what your friends or family are reading - simply connect with them via Virtual Bookshelf and you see what books they have read, which they are interested in or which ones they added to their wishlist (might come handy for the next present :) ) If they have a book you ever wanted to read in their library simply just message them and ask if you can lend it - instead of buying the same book for yourself. Virtual Bookshelf also includes the latest New York Times bestseller lists to stay up to date with what is going on in the world of books - btw you'll get to see if one of your friends has bought the book already so maybe no need to buy is yourself ;)

For one, it crashes consistently, especially when you try and use the bar code scanner, view a friends library, or even just open the app itself. The manual search isn’t very intuitive. You can type in the exact title of a book you’re looking for and it will show suggestions that don’t match first, forcing you to scroll and scroll until you find the book you’re looking for. Even then, there’s no option to edit the listing (sometimes covers or descriptions are incorrect) or add your own, like with other apps. Overall, the developers had a great idea that just fell short and it doesn’t seem they’re in a rush to revamp anytime soon.
