Detecto is a magnetic field instrument for your iPhone. It reads the built-in 3-axis magnetometer, measures how noisy your particular sensor is, and turns that into readings you can trust for everyday DIY. WHAT IT CAN AND CAN'T FIND Detecto senses iron and steel: screws, nails, rebar, steel pipes, brackets and magnets. It cannot detect gold, silver, aluminum or copper, and it does not see through the ground. Range is a few centimeters.
