Top Tier ranks food city by city in Top 5 lists. Every list stops at five places, ranked 1 to 5, and a list with only three good answers stops at three. There are no star ratings and no letter grades. A place is on a list or it isn't, and the only question is where it lands. The lists come from two places. Our editorial lists are built from the local papers and magazines that cover each city, and every pick cites the piece it came from. Locals publish their own Top 5s too, under their own names. What's in the app • More than 3,000 editorial Top 5s across 63 US cities, from New York and Los Angeles to New Haven, Albuquerque and Savannah. • City Consensus blends the lists for a category into one leaderboard for your city. Rows show whether a place is open now and how far away it is, and each place shows its rank with the lists behind it. • Seasons. When a season like Fall, Game Day or Holiday is running in your city, the city page carries it. Each season has its own page with the local picks in every category it covers, and the places you save are filed under the season you saved them for. • Regional dishes get their own lists where they belong: New Haven apizza, Chicago deep dish, Boston lobster rolls, Memphis barbecue, St. Louis pork steaks, Milwaukee fish fry and Detroit coneys. • Taste Match finds the curators whose picks line up with yours so you can follow them. • A map view, full place pages, and a New in your city rail that shows categories as they're added.
