Kartei: Study Flashcards

Turn good questions into knowledge that stays. Kartei combines your own flashcards with spaced repetition in a focused, native study space for iPhone, iPad and Mac. KNOW WHAT TO STUDY NEXT See which cards are due today. Reveal the answer, rate your recall honestly and let FSRS-6 calculate the next review. Choose your target retention and daily time budget. MAKE CARDS THAT FIT YOUR SUBJECT Create question-and-answer cards, cloze deletions and image occlusions. Add explanations, sources and tags. Organize your knowledge into decks, then find cards with search and filters. GIVE EQUATIONS THEIR SPACE Write mathematical and chemical formulas in TeX. Equations render offline, making Kartei a useful home for physics, calculus, biochemistry and other subjects that need more than plain text. THINK IN YOUR OWN HANDWRITING Write on the front and back of cards with your finger on iPad and iPhone, or with Apple Pencil on iPad. Your strokes stay editable. View and study handwritten cards on Mac. KEEP THE EXPLANATION WITH THE QUESTION Add images, voice recordings, audio, video and PDF attachments to your cards. Bring the material that helps you understand and remember. STUDY LOCALLY. TAKE YOUR COLLECTION WITH YOU. Your collection is stored on your device. Export cards, media and review history together, then import them on another device. Move over from Anki with packages (.apkg) including images; with Kartei Pro, your progress, sound and video come along too. Text cards import through CSV or TSV. SEE YOUR ACTUAL PROGRESS Track card reviews and the progress of your decks. Choose light or dark mode, and use keyboard shortcuts on Mac to keep your workflow moving. Start with a sample collection covering physics, biochemistry and calculus. Then build your own flashcards for school, university, vocabulary or professional learning. KARTEI PRO Unlimited cards and decks, spaced repetition, formulas, images and export are free. Kartei Pro adds handwriting and sketches, audio and dictation, video and PDF, plus bringing progress, sound and video over from Anki. Choose a monthly or yearly subscription or a one-time purchase.
