Your Mac library, with you on iPhone and iPad. OpenShelf is the native companion to OpenShelf on Mac. Browse your collection, organize Reading Lists, update Reading Status or Wish List, and read supported EPUBs inside the app. REQUIRES OPENSHELF ON MAC Set up your library in OpenShelf on Mac first. Enable iCloud Library, sign in with the same Apple Account on your devices, and allow initial publication to finish. Turn on Include primary book files on Mac to make supported files available for downloading and reading. The mobile app does not import books or replace the Mac's library-management tools. Without a Mac-published library, there is no mobile collection to browse. ORGANIZE YOUR READING LISTS Create personal lists and put books in the order you want to read them. Add books, rearrange rows, remove memberships and open a book from the same screen. Undo restores your latest membership or ordering change. Series information, reading status and available ratings help you organize. Removing a book from a list keeps it in your library. Reading Lists can synchronize with your Mac and other supported devices through your private iCloud Library. For an existing library, update every participating device to 1.1.3 (19) or later, then choose Enable Reading List Sync on the publishing Mac. Older builds require an update after this explicit upgrade. READ AND RESUME ACROSS DEVICES Open DRM-free, reflowable EPUBs in a full-screen reader. Save your passage and pick up where you left off on another connected device through optional iCloud position sync. Add local bookmarks, search within the book and navigate its contents and internal links. Choose page swipes or continuous scrolling, with chapter and completion information. Adjust six page palettes, System/Light/Dark appearance, fonts, text size and display brightness. Customize spacing, margins and optional text justification. Changes preview immediately, with Reset and Undo for layout adjustments. Set OpenShelf as your default EPUB reader or choose Other App to use Apple's system picker. Read downloaded files offline. PDFs retain system document preview. Protected and fixed-layout EPUBs are not supported by the built-in reader. BROWSE AND FIND YOUR BOOKS Browse authors, series, genres and personal tags. Filter your collection and search its book details and tags. Use Continue Reading, Wish List, Coming Soon, Recently Added and Unread Smart Collections with book counts. Library, Browse and Search retain separate navigation. View Book Info and update manual Reading Status or Wish List. Cloud-only books show download progress when opened. Opening or finishing a book does not change its Reading Status automatically. RECOVERY AND DOWNLOAD STORAGE Repair same-account iCloud sync while retaining local personal data and pending edits. Export personal reading data, including lists, saved positions and bookmarks. View download storage and remove eligible local book downloads while keeping their catalog entries and reading data. Download them again when needed; your Mac keeps its original files. PRIVACY AND PLATFORM BOUNDARIES Your Mac publishes catalog records, covers and selected primary files to private iCloud. Reading Lists, Reading Status, Wish List and OpenShelf reader positions can synchronize. Bookmarks, reader choice and appearance preferences remain local. External reading apps maintain their own positions and bookmarks. No OpenShelf account is required. There is no Libravo-hosted library server, advertising, analytics, cross-app tracking or reading-time collection. Mobile has no metadata-provider or AI request interface. Metadata editing, imports, full-library backup and optional research/extensions remain on Mac. Extensions are installed separately; optional AI uses your own provider credentials and may incur provider charges.
