Songledger

Not every songwriter carries a notebook. Some carry an iPad, and write in the same way using Apple Pencil. Songledger follows a song from the first scratch of an idea to the stage. SKETCH YOUR IDEAS Write freely with Apple Pencil on a scrollable canvas that feels like a real notebook. Choose lined or blank paper, add photos for inspiration, annotate with text, and capture the creative mess of early songwriting without limits. RECORD AS YOU WRITE Attach voice notes directly to each song. Hum a melody, capture a chord progression, or record a full run-through the moment inspiration strikes. Build up recordings with overdub and layers, shape your sound with reverb, and scrub through waveforms to find exactly what you need. BUILD YOUR FAIR COPY When your ideas are ready, move into the Fair Copy editor - a clean, structured space for lyrics with chord notation positioned above each line. Organise sections (Verse, Chorus, Bridge, and more), set your key, tempo, and capo, then lock it for a distraction-free performance view. TAKE THE STAGE Gig Mode turns your setlist into a performance tool. Lyrics auto-scroll at your chosen speed, chords and lyrics display in one or two columns, and your full set exports as a beautifully formatted PDF to share or print. BUILT-IN TOOLS A chromatic tuner and metronome keep you ready to play at any moment - no need to leave the app mid-session.
