AnimAtlas

REQUIRES APPLE INTELLIGENCE Animal identification requires iOS 27, an iPhone that supports Apple Intelligence, and available Apple Intelligence models. Installing iOS 27 on an unsupported iPhone does not enable identification. AnimAtlas turns real encounters into a private visual collection. Photograph an animal, receive a confidence-aware identification or an honest uncertain result, and unlock a collectible card for each species or supported dog or cat breed. See the same animal again? AnimAtlas adds the new encounter to its existing card instead of cluttering your collection. A CATALOG BUILT FOR DISCOVERY Search nearly 1.5 million species entries, including fossils, plus 344 dog breeds and 82 cat breeds. The catalog is included in the app, with offline search by scientific name, common name, or alias. Catalog coverage is not a guarantee of identification. Reference photos and animal details vary by entry. DISCOVER WITH HONEST CONFIDENCE Strong matches can move straight to a reveal. Otherwise, compare up to three suggestions and choose; on iPhone 15 Pro or later, AnimAtlas recognizes them right on your iPhone. Low-confidence captures stay as Mysteries for later. AnimAtlas favors honest uncertainty over confident misinformation. KEEP THE ANIMAL YOU PHOTOGRAPHED Collect framed cards that preserve your subject's natural photo colours, anatomy, and distinguishing marks. Original photos remain separate. Share confirmed cards, earned badges, or your collection as Story or Post images, or save them to Photos. BUILD YOUR PRIVATE ATLAS Browse one card per species or supported breed, revisit every sighting, and explore stories, taxonomy, habitat, behavior, conservation context, maps, and identification evidence when available. My World shows your private encounter pins. Species World shows recorded observations, not population estimates or authoritative ranges. ON THE LOOKOUT Add up to 12 species you want to find to your lookout. Around you suggests species recorded near your approximate area in public GBIF data. PRIVATE BY DEFAULT Your Dex is local-first. Full-resolution originals remain in private storage. Exact coordinates are excluded from identification and GBIF requests; Apple Maps may receive them for country resolution and exact-pin-derived visible-area boundaries. There is no social feed, public sighting map, advertising, or AnimAtlas account. Private iCloud sync is on by default when available; manage AnimAtlas iCloud access in iOS Settings. Your collection stays in your private CloudKit database. ANIMALS AND FOSSILS Collect mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians, fish, invertebrates, and fossils. Fossil Lens offers supported fossil matches, estimated rarity, and badges for 1, 5, and 10 fossil species. Uncertain results stay as Mysteries. Earn 28 private Atlas badges across your collection. Search the catalog to review a Mystery or correct an encounter. Keep a safe distance from wildlife. SEND FEEDBACK Report a bug or suggest an idea from Settings. Your message and app version go to our feedback service; an email address is optional if you want a reply. IDENTIFICATION AVAILABILITY For ages 13+. Identification requires a compatible iPhone and available Apple Intelligence models. When identification is locked or unavailable, camera capture and private Mystery storage remain available. START FREE, UNLOCK ONCE Your first seven successful qualifying new-card identifications are included. Mysteries, failed or canceled captures, duplicates, and repeat encounters do not use an identification. Continue with one lifetime unlock for identification and card creation. Camera capture and private locked Mysteries remain available without a subscription, consumable scan packs, or paid rarity mechanics. Purchases are disabled when neither Apple identification route is available. Buying the lifetime unlock does not make an unsupported iPhone compatible. Available in English, French, Thai, and Simplified Chinese.
