ZILARA is a fast-paced neon endless runner built on the duality of light and shadow. You play as a shifting entity that exists in two forms — radiant Light and deep Shadow. Obstacles and corrupted energy can only be cleared in the right form, so every split-second decision to switch carries real cost: energy, heat, and timing. CORE MECHANICS FORM SWITCHING Tap to flip between Light and Shadow. Each switch drains energy and builds heat on your core. Switch too rapidly and the cost escalates — overheat and you'll be locked out at the worst possible moment. JUMP & SLIDE Swipe up to leap over obstacles, swipe down to slide under barriers. Gravity Flux zones warp your jump arc and slide duration mid-run. ENERGY MANAGEMENT Your energy bar fuels every switch and your only revive. Passive regen keeps it ticking up, but Energy Drain flux zones slow recovery and inflate switch costs. Budget carefully. DEPTH SYSTEMS SWITCH HEAT A second pressure layer on top of energy. Rapid switching raises heat, and high heat means the next switch costs even more. Heat Sink zones accelerate decay so aggressive chains become briefly viable. RUSH WAVES Scripted high-density obstacle bursts. Imperfect clears break your combo, corrupted orbs require form-matching, and the rhythm demands both speed and precision. CORRUPTED ENERGY ORBS Standard orbs restore energy in any form. Corrupted orbs pulse with a warning colour and only pay out fully when collected in the matching form — collect in the wrong form and you absorb a fraction and lose the combo. MINI-BOSS TRIALS Named boss sequences arrive every few hundred metres. Each sequence has a unique obstacle pattern and ends with a reward choice: take a score cache to push your high score further, or take an energy surge to stabilise your next run of switches. PRISM BURST Charge your Prism Burst meter by perfect-clearing obstacles and syncing corrupted orbs. When it's full, hold to fire a Null Field that absorbs the next wave of projectiles without a form-match requirement. FLUX ZONES Temporary field distortions that alter physics mid-run: • Gravity Flux — heavier jumps, faster falls, longer slides • Energy Drain — switch costs rise and regen slows • Heat Sink — heat decays faster, enabling aggressive switching PROGRESSION PERSISTENT UNLOCKS Defeat each mini-boss for the first time to permanently alter future runs: • Prism Attunement — first switch of every run is free • Null Buffer — revive costs 20 % less energy • Eclipse Reserve — boss energy rewards return 25 % more COMBO & STYLE SCORING Consecutive clears multiply your score. Stylish actions (perfect sync, perfect Prism Burst usage, heat-limited switches) layer a style bonus on top. Every run is a new target to beat. DESIGN PHILOSOPHY Zilara is designed so that mechanics interlock rather than stack independently. Form-switching gates energy; energy gates the revive; The revive is your only tactical safety net. Flux zones shake the board at unpredictable intervals, and boss sequences reward players who have internalised the rhythm rather than button-mashing their way through the early waves.
