Albany Explorer

It's Fall in Albany. Explore Albany with AVA and create your new, adventurous story. Ava is short for Albany Visitors Association. When AVA greets you, click on "AR me" to see her come to life before you and ask her where to eat, play, hike or even create an itinerary. Take the NEW Pioneering Women's Interactive Tour to walk with women who have made local and national history. One of the women now comes to life in augmented reality, Bessie Hale, when you use the app to scan a QR code at her former business. Explore and experience our rich history, woven into every building and step you take as you explore using our interactive tours. Meet our Pioneering Women including Bessie Hale, shown on the intro video, the first Black woman business owner in Albany. Celebrate the history, life and achievements of Albany's Pioneering Women with the state's first Pioneering Women Tour. Visit places where these diverse women lived or worked to gain recognition, and make a difference in our world. Watch engaging videos about their lives and contributions to Albany, the state of Oregon, and the Nation, sponsored by the Oregon Heritage Group and the Albany Regional Museum. Please enjoy our other stop by stop, interactive tours of the famous Covered Bridges, Monteith District, Hackleman District and Downtown. Watch for our QR code, scannable History Stops along the way. Every stop tells a story. We also invite you to explore our nationally known local restaurants, wineries, and take a ride on our new Historic Carousel. Remember shopping in Oregon is tax free! We can even find you a place to stay before you visit. More questions? Ask Ava. Meet our NEW Voice-Activated Chatbot AVA from the Albany Visitor's Association.
