So I want to start off by saying I have used this app for about 5-6 months now, as someone who loses there remote constantly this app is a life saver. Saying th...So I want to start off by saying I have used this app for about 5-6 months now, as someone who loses there remote constantly this app is a life saver. Saying this, there is a lot of problems with app. Most notably is your app either not connecting to your TV, or when your app does connect to your TV some different language (for me it was Chinese or Japanese) appears at the top of the remote control interface. To fix this you need to fully restart your TV. So you can’t just hit the power button and turn it off/on. You need to either unplug your TV or find your physical remote and hold do the power button until the restart TV option comes up and select that. I know this app hasn’t been touched for quite sometime but quality of life changes would be great, hope I helped some of you out.

I have a H8G and a iPhone 11 Pro both connected over 5G, with no duplicate models in the house. I’m the only one with either specific device and still I can only turn on my TV through the app, once the TV turns on it finally gives me the option to connect to my TV, but to no avail as it disconnects. The app will then proceed to appear as if my TV had magically turned off again when in reality it’s powered on. The cycle repeats and no matter how many times I tell my TV to turn on as it’s the only way the app will allow me to connect it will then say it has turned back off. You want to know the definition of insanity? Doing the same thing over and over expecting a different result. That’s this app. Great TV, absolutely dogwater app. Update: Tried to update and reinstall and now it doesn’t even detect my TV that’s connected to the same wifi band with all the content sharing settings turned on. The developers have no excuse for how much this app purely does not work.

Unfortunately the ONLY thing letting this TV down is the built-in App Store it comes with from factory. The VIDAA-U Smart is sadly anything but smart as 95% of the apps are useless as they are not English applications so besides Netflix, Showmax, DSTV-Now and You Tube the App Store is redundant. 🔌 Connecting successfully to this app was met with some challenges, however I found the problem was NOT the app itself but was from my Router that was found to be restricting a successful pairing of any of my devices to the TV. Some quick changes to my router on an administrator level and I was able to connect all my devices to the TV seamlessly 🙌🏼 Thank you HiSense for this intuitive application and I look forward to some much needed added features in the not too distant future🏆

This app made that possible and saved me a ton of money on a new tv. My rating is for this app only, the hisense tv itself is garbage. It freezes constantly, the smart functions never worked well. But this app allows me to put off buying a new tv for a few months.

I have spent several hours trying to determine why I can’t connect the app to the TV - the app sees the TV just fine but when you try to connect it just spins a progress bar forever and it never connects. Issue persists through restarts of both the TV and phone, as well as other devices I’ve tried to run the app on. I have verified everything is up to date, verified that content sharing is enabled, and still no luck at all. The app clearly can see the TV and it appears instantly when I power it on and disappears when I power it off… just no way to connect to it. Ultimately all I want is to connect this to Alexa which seems impossible when their own app can’t connect to the TV. All the features in the app are of course useless without a connected TV. Wish I would have known the integration didn’t function before I purchased the TV in the first place.

I have tried for a couple years and there has not been any update or response from Hisense. The app is not developed professionally. I advise you to stay away from this app, for it is a waste of time; until there is some re-release/update of this app.

The tv shows up to connect to on the app, but nothing happens. And then when I check my WiFi on my tv, it tells me “miracast is exist, network can’t be used” which isn’t even a proper sentence?! I can’t believe I wasted my money on two of there tvs. Customer service’s response to all of these reviews are generic and exactly the same, which is also garbage. Very disappointed. Wouldn’t even leave one star if it didn’t make me.

I think the majority of the negative reviews stem from operator error. In order for the remote app to connect you have to ensure you go to Settings > Network and Internet > Content Sharing > and toggle to on. After that your phone will recognize the TV and voila!
