Sosu brings your njangi or tontine into one app: the group chat, whose turn it is, who has paid, and what is still owed. Your group keeps paying the way it does today, in cash, by mobile money transfer, bank transfer or Zelle, and Sosu keeps the record every member can see. SOSU DOES NOT HOLD OR MOVE MONEY Sosu is your group's shared record book. No money passes through the app: you record a payment you made, and the person you paid confirms it. GROUP CHAT, END-TO-END ENCRYPTED • Every group has its own chat, encrypted end to end with the MLS standard. Sosu cannot read your messages. • Payments, confirmations, payouts and late fees appear in the thread as they happen. • Photos, videos, voice messages, documents, your location, contacts, GIFs and polls. • Replies, reactions, read receipts, disappearing messages and view once. • Direct messages with anyone on Sosu. Someone you share no group with sends a request first. Block and report in two taps. • Status updates for 24 hours, seen by the people who share a group with you. • Encrypted chat backup to your iCloud, locked with a password or key only you have. GROUPS AND CIRCLES • Create a private group and invite members by phone number or with an invite code. • Approve join requests. A newcomer can name a guarantor. • Set up a circle: the contribution, the hands, and the payout order, set by an admin or drawn at random. ROUNDS THAT RUN ON TIME • Every round has its payout day and its beneficiary, and the next round starts on time by itself. • See what has come in, who still has to pay, and what you owe. • A round left unpaid after its payout day stays open, in red, until it is settled. RECORD PAYMENTS, WITH PROOF • Paid in cash, by mobile money transfer, bank transfer or Zelle? Record it for exactly what you owe and add a screenshot as proof. • The person you paid confirms it, or says it did not arrive. • Admins settle a disputed payment: mark it as paid, or keep it unpaid. LATE FEES AND GUARANTORS • Late fees apply after the group's grace days, by the group's own rules. • Admins can send a reminder or ask a member's guarantor to pay. • Guarantor debts are tracked until they are repaid. CARRY ACCOUNT AND GROUP BANK • When hands do not divide evenly over the rounds, a member holds the carry account that moves the extra from one round to a later one. • Every member can see the balances, the handovers and each ledger entry. ALWAYS UP TO DATE • Notifications for new rounds, your turn, payments to confirm and late members. • A payment reminder 1, 2 or 3 days before the payout day: you choose. • The group's full payment history, with filters and a CSV export. • No connection? The app still opens with your groups and chats as they were. YOUR ACCOUNT, PROTECTED • Sign in with your phone number and a code sent by text message. • An optional two-step PIN, and App lock with Face ID or your phone's passcode. • No ads and no tracking. • Delete your account from Settings at any time.
