HONEST ABOUT THE LIMITS A phone microphone is made for voice, differs between models and squashes very loud sound, so the loudest readings come out low. The app adds a built-in correction; calibrate against a reference meter for better numbers. It is not a certified Class 1 or Class 2 meter, a dosimeter or a hearing test. PRIVACY No account. Sound is analysed in memory and not stored; the Video tab records audio only inside videos you choose to record. The free version shows Google ads and may ask for tracking permission; location is used only to tag a recording, if you allow it.
