Description

Gendec prepares the General Declaration required by Annex 9 to the Convention on International Civil Aviation, Appendix 1 — the document handed to border and customs authorities on arrival and departure. It is built for business aviation operations staff who prepare these documents flight after flight and cannot afford a manifest that is wrong. A FLIGHT FILE THAT CHECKS ITSELF Declare the inward leg, the outward leg or both. Place each person, set the crew functions, mark inbound and outbound. Gendec checks every mandatory field, exactly one pilot-in-command, nobody listed twice or without a movement, no movement on a leg that does not exist, and travel documents valid on the flight date with a warning ninety days ahead. The declaration cannot be issued until every blocking point is cleared, and each is named in plain language. REFERENCE DATA, ENTERED ONCE Aircraft, operators, sites, crew and passengers stay on file and are reused flight after flight. A crew that always flies together is saved as a team and placed in one tap. Aircraft, sites and people import and export as CSV, so a fleet shares one set of records. TRY IT BEFORE YOU TYPE A PASSPORT NUMBER Four example files travel inside the app: two aircraft, five places and nine invented people, loaded in one tap. Nothing real is needed to press every button, and one action erases the lot. EVERY AERODROME AND HELIPORT IN THE WORLD Type four letters and the site fills itself in: 21,853 ICAO location indicators, 2,911 of them heliports, all offline. Each carries its position and, nearly always, a time zone measured there rather than guessed from the country. A newer directory is brought in as a file whenever you want one. A site can equally be a landing site with no code at all: a hotel, an estate, a field. LOCAL TIME IN, UTC OUT Give each site its time zone once. Enter the local time the crew reads off the clock; Gendec works out UTC, correctly across daylight saving, and flags the cases where UTC falls on another day. HANDLING REQUESTS, WRITTEN FOR YOU The e-mail you send to a handler, an FBO or a hotel: movements, aircraft type and MTOW, persons on board, services wanted, the company to invoice and the crew named in full. Each site keeps its own contacts. The message opens in your own mail app — you read it over and press send. Gendec never sends anything itself, and never stores card details. SCAN THE PASSPORT Photograph the page and Gendec reads the machine-readable zone, with the check digits ICAO prints there. Every value is shown for you to confirm. The photograph is read on the device and kept nowhere. THE DOG TRAVELS TOO Animals in the cabin are declared with species, name, pet passport, microchip and rabies validity. They print in a list of their own, headed not counted as passengers. THE SUMS BEFORE A FLIGHT, ALL OFFLINE Great-circle distance and track between any two places. The wind triangle for the heading, the ground speed and the time en route. The fuel block line by line, in five units. Local time and the sun at the other end. A position read back three ways. A ONE-PAGE BRIEF FOR THE CREW Legs and times, the sun at destination, who is on board, who to call at each station and the handling asked for, on one sheet. The declaration itself goes to the handler's own contacts with the PDF attached, and an iPad keyboard drives the app: ⌘N for a new flight, ⌘P for the PDF, ⌘F to search. WHAT WAS DECLARED, STILL ON FILE Creating the PDF keeps that declaration exactly as it was printed, so starting the next flight does not end the record of the last one. The copies stay on the device and are erased whenever you choose. PRIVACY BY CONSTRUCTION Gendec holds passport numbers, dates and places of birth, on the device and nowhere else: no account, no server of its own, no analytics, no tracking. It can require Face ID, Touch ID or your passcode each time it opens. Everything can be erased in one action. Works on iPhone and iPad. No subscription.

What's New

Version 1.1 2026-10-28
- Rebuilding a PDF in Issued declarations no longer replaces the declaration the GENDEC screen is offering to share or print. - The check that the departure com...- Rebuilding a PDF in Issued declarations no longer replaces the declaration the GENDEC screen is offering to share or print. - The check that the departure comes after the arrival now reads each local time on its own station's clock: a valid declaration around midnight is no longer refused, and a departure that is really earlier is caught. - Duplicate now gives the copied flight file today's Document date. - When the UTC time falls on a different day from the local date, the declaration and the flight brief now print the UTC date beside it, as in 23:00 (19-AUG-2026). - The declaration now prints long names on two lines instead of cutting them short, and up to five lines in the health box; a health statement too long for its box must be shortened before the declaration can be issued. - A signature drawn in this version keeps its proportions on the declaration, and clearing the pad then tapping Done removes the signature. - The flight brief lists two contacts per station, then how many more the site record holds, so station notes print in full. - Load the example records now leaves the records already on this device untouched. - If the data file turns out empty, Gendec now opens the previous saved copy and says so, as it already did for an unreadable file, and keeps that copy. It also warns when its data folder cannot be opened instead of carrying on without saving. - Swiping down no longer closes an editor or the signature pad holding unsaved changes. - Import from a file… › Reference data only now keeps the aircraft, sites and people that this device's flight files and handling requests still use, without doubling those the file also carries. - On iPad, the app lock now covers every Gendec window. - Ticking Nothing to report now clears the three answers beneath it, in flight files saved earlier too. - Delete all local data now also erases the CSV, backup and example files you shared. CSV and backup files are also deleted 24 hours after they were made, and a PDF as soon as no screen offers it any more. - Text copied for a handling request or a declaration e-mail now stays on this device and clears after 15 minutes. - Share PDF in Issued declarations, Share on a handling request and, on iPad, Print from the flight brief now open reliably. - A comma, ? or # in a handling contact's address no longer splits it into extra recipients or loses the e-mail's subject and text. - CSV import recognises a header row whatever column comes first, reads Š, Œ and ’ from Excel for Windows, no longer lets a stray quote mark swallow the rows after it, finds the registration under Tail, Immatriculation or Aircraft, and leaves a person's details alone when the file has no column for them. - Scan the passport and Import a copy now read the French identity card issued until 2021 and document numbers longer than nine characters, no longer put a date of birth in the future, refuse visas, and prefer a reading whose check digits all pass. Import a copy also reads a page turned a quarter turn, and says when a PDF is protected by a password. - A position Gendec cannot read with certainty, typed in Tools or imported from a CSV file, is now refused instead of being put in the wrong place, and the last entry in a site's latitude or longitude boxes is no longer lost on Save. - Once you renew the last flagged document, People shows everyone again instead of staying on Nothing to renew. - UK as a nationality or issuing country now becomes GBR, and the sun times in Tools follow the day the picker shows. - Searches ignore accents, and the time-zone search finds cities typed with a space, such as New York. - Clearer texts throughout, including Compose e-mail and the expiry warnings, more boxes named for VoiceOver, and crew and passenger names on the Flight screen that stay readable at the largest text sizes.
