Bonsai Care Companion is a privacy-first journal and care calendar for the trees on your bench — juniper, elm, ficus, maple, pine, and more. Everything stays on this iPhone or iPad. No account, no cloud, no feed. WHAT YOU GET • My Trees — a private collection with nicknames, placement, notes, and photos from the camera. Photos never leave the device. • Journal — log water, prune, wire, repot, and fertilize on each tree, with optional photos. • Reminders — a month and week care calendar. Local notifications only (water, prune, wire, repot, fertilize). No push servers. • Care — species cards with larger identification photos (leaf, bark, tree), indoor/outdoor notes, mix, and season copy. Tap any photo for fullscreen pinch-and-pan viewing. Offline; credits shown where photos are used. • Buying guide — practical leaf and bark photo cues to help you pick a healthy tree before you bring it home. • Which bonsai do I have? — a short on-device identifier that narrows species from what you see, then opens the matching care card. • Getting started — a first-weeks guide per species: pot size, soil, placement, and what's essential vs optional. • Default placement — indoor or outdoor for new trees; change it any time per tree. PRIVATE BY DESIGN • All collection data lives in the app sandbox (SwiftData). • No sign-in, no server, no analytics, no ads, no tracking SDKs, no in-app purchases. • Paid once.
