Description

A written record of one child, birth to five, kept on your phone and nowhere else. First Almanac is a book with ten sections rather than a feed. You open it, write the thing down, and close it. Nothing is uploaded, because there is nowhere for it to go: the app has no account, no sign-in, and no network code at all. BIRTH The details you will be asked for a hundred times and never remember. Date, time and place. Weight in pounds or kilograms, length and head circumference in inches or centimetres. Who was in the room. The story of the day, written while you still have it. A photograph. The star sign and the birthstone are worked out for you. RECORD Moments, milestones, and letters written to your child to be read later. Three boards keep count of what has not been captured yet: the firsts, the birthdays, and the holidays as each one comes round for the first time. DAILY One-handed logging for the months when one hand is all you have. Breast, bottle, solids, wet, dirty, sleep, medicine, temperature. The two numbers you actually want — time since the last feed, time since the last change — sit at the top of the screen. GROWTH WHO weight-for-age and height-for-age curves, birth to five, published separately for boys and girls, with your child's own measurements drawn on them. HEALTH A temperature history. The published weight-banded dosing tables for acetaminophen and ibuprofen, with the concentration named, the age limits stated plainly, and a clock that shows when the next dose is due and how many have been given today. How long expressed milk keeps, at room temperature, in the fridge, and in the freezer. VACCINES The 2026 AAP immunisation schedule, series by series, with room to record what was actually given at each visit and when. GUIDE Thirty-six short pieces on feeding, sleep, safe sleep, fever, tantrums, play, teeth, toilet learning, a new sibling, and screens — filtered to your child's age, so you are shown the handful that apply this month rather than all of them. KEEPSAKE Every entry you write becomes a page. When you are ready, print the book to PDF and send it to any photo-book service. There is also a plain one-page summary you can print or hand to a clinician. PRIVACY, MEANT LITERALLY No account. No sign-in. No analytics, no advertising identifiers, no crash reporting, no third-party software development kits. The record is a file on your phone, and photographs are copied into it and stay there. The app makes no network requests of any kind, which is why its App Store privacy label reads No Data Collected. There is nothing to trust us with, because we never have it. ONE PHONE The record lives on the phone you keep it on. There is no sync between two parents' phones, because there is no server for it to sync through — that is the trade this app makes, and it is better to know it before you buy than after. The record can be saved out as a file at any time, so it is yours to move or keep. WHAT IT COSTS Thirty days, complete and unrestricted, with nothing held back and no card required. After that, one payment of $49.99 opens it for good, on every device signed in to the same Apple ID, for all five years. There is no subscription and there will not be one. First Almanac is a record and a reference. It is not medical advice and it does not replace your child's clinician. The guidance here follows published sources, named where it matters, but nobody knows your child from a phone. ACCESSIBILITY Every field and control is labelled for VoiceOver, so the record can be kept without looking at the screen. Every text field, button and image now carries its own VoiceOver label — 38 fields across the birth record and the daily log, each announcing its own name rather than a placeholder. The whole record can be filled in without looking at the screen. Fixed: at the largest Dynamic Type sizes the header could fill the screen and push the rest of the app out of reach. It no longer does. Rounded corners on buttons and fields, clearer spacing under every label, and a gentler colour on the diaper buttons. Two controls were below the 44pt touch target and now meet it. The tab row shows that there is more to swipe to.
