Fuel & Range helps you check the fuel side of a boat passage before you leave the dock. You enter the numbers, it does the arithmetic and shows the result in litres, gallons or any unit you prefer. START WITH YOUR BOAT Save a vessel with its tank capacity, cruising speed and fuel burn. Capacity and fuel onboard are kept apart, so a half-full tank is never treated as a full one. You can also enter unusable fuel if you know it. PLAN THE PASSAGE LEG BY LEG Add outbound legs and, for an out-and-back trip, return legs with their own distance, speed and burn rate. Fuel added at a stop counts only when you enter it. CHOOSE HOW MUCH STAYS IN THE TANK Use the rule of thirds, a quarter, ten percent, or your own percentage. The app explains what each one means and applies it to the usable fuel at the start of every fuel segment. SEE THE MARGIN A live tank diagram shows unusable fuel, planned use, the protected reserve and the margin, or the shortfall if the fuel does not cover the passage. The result is stated in words as well as colour. TEST THE PLAN Try a higher burn rate, a slower speed, a longer distance, another reserve or less fuel onboard. A table shows 25 combinations of burn and distance at once. KEEP AND COMPARE Save passages with notes, reopen them later, search them, and compare two revisions side by side.
