Description

Most weather apps tell you rain is likely this afternoon. FieldCast tells you the chance hour by hour, how much is actually coming, and how far apart the models are — so you can decide whether to start a field operation or hold off. RAIN, BY THE HOUR AND BY THE MODEL Rain chance is graphed across every hour of the day, and every weather model is drawn on it. You see when the chance climbs and when it drops off, instead of one number covering the whole afternoon. Forecast rain amounts from every model, side by side, so you can see if one model is predicting a much higher rain amount than the others. The comparison is grounded in your own field's weather data. HOURLY, BUILT FOR SPRAY DECISIONS Temperature, humidity, wind speed and direction, rain chance and inversion risk, hour by hour, with the peak wind gust on each day's forecast. Inversion chance is the one most weather apps leave out and the one that decides whether a spray stays where you put it. DRY-DOWN AND HARVEST TIMING Crop moisture projected forward from temperature and humidity, so you can see how a standing crop dries in the field over the coming days and time the combine to it. RADAR YOU CAN SCRUB THROUGH Observed radar covers roughly the past two hours from NOAA's MRMS network. A separate futurecast view shows the HRRR model's predicted radar out to about 18 hours from its latest run. One at a time, full screen, with the map holding your position when you switch. THE REST OF THE FIELD PICTURE Rainfall totals for your location, corrected against nearby gauges. Evapotranspiration outlooks for irrigation timing. Crop disease pressure modelled from recent temperature and humidity. Official severe weather warnings from the National Weather Service, shown while the app is open. HOW LOCATION WORKS Your device location is used to produce the forecast, radar and rainfall for exactly the field you are standing in — that is the app's main purpose. You do not have to grant it. The app opens on a default location and works completely without it, and you can search for any US place by name at any time. WHAT IT DOES NOT DO No account. No sign-in. No ads. No subscriptions. No notifications of any kind — warnings appear while the app is open, so do not rely on it to wake you. COVERAGE United States only. The radar, rainfall and warning data sources are US networks. Weather data by Open-Meteo.com, licensed CC BY 4.0. Radar, rainfall and warnings from NOAA and the National Weather Service. FieldCast Weather is an independent product of Enhanced Ag Technology LLC and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or representing NOAA, the National Weather Service, or any government agency.

It reads out every 2 hours for the next two weeks and marks each block one of four ways: Run, when the air will take the crop to or below target and is warm enough to move water; No change, when the air is dry enough but under 40 F, so little moves for the electricity; Adds water, when the air settles above target and the fan would put moisture back into grain that is already dry; and Too cold, under about 30 F. Pick the crop and the target follows it: 15.5% for corn, 13% for soybeans. The screen assumes the grain is already down to that target, and answers whether the air would hold it there rather than how to dry a wet bin. Morning dew None, light or heavy for each morning, and the hour it burns off, on the Hourly Forecast and in the day detail. Cloud cover A cloud percentage column on the Hourly Forecast, alongside the spray window figures. Favorite locations Star a place to keep it. Three favorites sit above your three most recent searches, so the fields you check daily stop scrolling away.
