Practical training in transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) traditionally depends on guidance from experienced physicians in a supervised clinical environment. Training opportunities are limited, and learning is often constrained by the discomfort and limited tolerance of awake patients. This app overcomes these challenges by allowing you to practice TEE at your own pace with a high-fidelity echocardiography simulator. The app features an intuitive interface modeled after a conventional TEE control module, providing a realistic experience of how probe manipulation and control settings affect the echocardiographic image. It automatically recognizes 28 standard TEE views and notifies you when each view has been acquired correctly. Interactive guidance helps you fine-tune the controls to obtain every standard view accurately, making it an effective tool for developing practical TEE skills anytime, anywhere. One of the greatest challenges in learning echocardiography is understanding the three-dimensional relationship between cardiac anatomy and the two-dimensional ultrasound images. To bridge this gap, the app provides optional real-time annotations of all cardiac chambers, major vessels, and valve leaflets in any user-selected imaging orientation, making spatial anatomy easier to understand. Best of all, the built-in self-assessment system allows you to continuously test your knowledge through short, engaging exercises. Your performance is automatically tracked over time, creating a personalized learning profile.
