Timed Math Dash

Timed Math Dash is a stopwatch for math facts: timed tests and drills for addition, subtraction, times tables and division. Pick a sign and a level, press TEST, and answer as many problems as you can while a red line sweeps around the dial. One full turn is one minute. HOW A TEST WORKS • Each problem is stacked inside the dial the way it is written on paper. • Type the answer on the keypad, or switch Answers to Choices and pick one of four. • Run a timed math test of 1 to 5 minutes, or a set number of problems: 20, 50, 100, 150 or 200. • A short countdown starts every test, and you can pause. WHAT YOU PRACTICE • Addition, subtraction, multiplication or division; addition and subtraction together; multiplication and division together; or all four. • Level 1 goes up to 4 × 4, Level 2 up to 8 × 8, and Level 3 up to 12 × 12, the whole times table, with the matching facts for the other signs. • Custom sets your own low and high numbers, or drills just one number, so every problem is, say, a five times table fact. MISSED PROBLEMS A wrong answer, or a right one that took more than 7 seconds, goes on your Missed list, most missed first, with the reason it is there. Practice just those math facts, or turn them into flash cards. A fact leaves the list after one right answer in under 7 seconds. GOALS AND RECORDS Set a fluency goal of correct answers per minute, or let a one-minute benchmark set it for you. Beat it on a timed test and the screen celebrates. Records keeps your best rate, your average and your coins for every sign and level. COINS, JEWELS AND BACKGROUNDS Every test pays coins into a piggy bank, and you pick the bank's color. Coins become jewels, and jewels buy backgrounds: each one changes the dial face and the wallpaper together, so the whole screen takes on the theme, from planets to foods to sports. Backgrounds are earned by playing, never bought with money. MORE WAYS TO PRACTICE • Flash Cards: in order, shuffled, or just your missed facts, with no clock. • Relax: an untimed run of up to an hour, with no coins at stake. • Problem Builder: build a problem from a grid of numbers and signs, solve it, and spin the wheel for bonus coins.
