I can't argue this game doesn't suffer from some of that creature summoning game type atrophy that seems to be prevalent in many of these types of games. However this game is well put together, deeper and more complex than Hearthstone, and easily finds purchase with me given it's intellectual property, even if it's still a creature summoning card game like many others. You get, for free, an amazingly well written single player campaign. Every player also has access to anything and everything anyone else can have through a card crafting system similar to other digital CCG. A fully fleshed out multiplayer is obviously there too. Of course; you can buy card packs and such with in game currency and real money. You pay money for later expansions adding story mode stuff and unlocking cards automatically too. Hopefully they will keep the cost down but its just par for the course with almost every card game. I see it being worth while as paid DLC if the game is actually evolving from those expansion and aren’t just more cards for the sake of selling more cards. So, come for the tasty free single player story and stick around for some much needed deeper strategy card game that doesn't overly complicate the formula. Legends has finally started to give Blizzard a competitor but I don't think they will be able to top Hearthstone’s mass appeal and polish (even if Legends is the better game).

But I will say I love love LOVE Skyrim so I thought this he would be fun, and boy was that an understatement. I will play this game during class, lunch, at home, hell this game has made me lose sleep. I really appreciate the time the devs took to put into this game and all the mechanics and visuals. However it's extremely difficult to interact with other players because we can't say what we want through a chat, we are given stale preprogrammed sentences. Also adding friends is difficult, you need to know their exact name in order to add a friend. My friend and I had a great idea that hopefully is already in the works but if not we hope to get the devs attention. First to improve player interaction, have an in game chat room where you can communicate with your opponent, view their profile, and even send them a friend request. Also we had an idea for sharing custom deck builds. So like many online games today, we thought having guilds or clans would be a nice way to make friends and compete against players without having to spend gold. Also you could share your custom decks, if someone has all the cards u used to make the deck then they can auto make it, but if you don't you could purchase it, try to pull it, or you could try to trade for it. Since many card games allow trading, why can't legend have it too?

The gameplay is fun and is very reminiscent of Card games such as MTG and little bit of hearthstone. The cards are super awesome and any of you who have play TESO: 3 Morrwind all the way to Online will see MANY references to previous games, he’ll you can even get some key characters from the aforementioned games as cards to play, Cicero, Vivec and Aela to name a few. Some pointers: Play through the main campaign! It will get you cards you will need to start out and will teach you how to play the game. Save soul gems, they will let you craft the legendary you want or maybe 2-3 epics that you want. Try not to focus on more than 1-2 decks your first couple hours of play, figure out what play style you have and stick to that. Complaints: this game HEAVILY relies on in app purchases, everything from $20 for the dark brother hood or clockwork city storylines to booster packs. The game is buggy but that’s to be expected as it’s fairly new, the morrowind House card backs are glitched and I have yet to receive 2 of the ones I have unlocked. Other than that this game is worth the time and maybe the money if you’re willing or capable to put either of those things into it.

My first caveat is that I have not gotten around to Gwent, so I'm not sure if any similarities could be drawn. I do know that the game's color system will be immediately familiar to MtG players, and that most of the card's individual mechanics will be immediately recognizable to veterans of HS. My second caveat is that I am a huge Elder Scrolls nerd, but I feel that Legends provides all the nostalgia and excitement that Hearthstone did for Warcraft veterans, albeit that Blizzard's entry still feels a little more stylishly designed and smooth-running. That said, Legends plays smoothly and the mechanics that may seem familiar are still presented in new and surprising ways. The new lane, rune, and prophecy systems inject new considerations to the control of deck meta and can dramatically alter the pace of a game. All in all, I haven't been this excited about an app since HS and I was surprised and delighted to see such a strong competitor in the mobile CCG arena- I will definitely be playing this more over the coming months if only to see the direction it goes.

Great game I truly love this game I have restarted it many times just to eat the full experience it meets my expectations, I don't have anything to complain about in this game or any ideas for it but I have a great idea for another mobile game for you guys and the very vast fanbase. I would love to see a port of the original first 2 elder scrolls games Arena and Daggerfall. It has been done with RuneScape this year and seeing Sega put their classic games on the app store I think it would be do able. It would introduce many newer fans to the original games and show more people about the story of the elder scrolls universe since most of the elder scrolls fans started at Skyrim. I would love to see this become reality and not just a dream of mine I feel like not only me but others would truly enjoy. Please consider this game idea. To all of those who have read this far thank you it truly means the world to me if you like the idea of Arena and Daggerfall coming to mobile please find ways to get the word to others and Bethesda themselves I would greatly appreciate it. Again thank you it truly means the world to me thank you and have a great day or night or whatever time it is when you are reading this.

I mostly play solo arena which is pretty fun but there are some quality of life issues. Each time you beat a champion, a card gets added to your deck. Generally the card quality is ok but it makes your deck larger and thus, slower to get to your good cards. Also it's hard to see the color mix and curve of your deck, which matters during new card selection. Figuring out the active quests can also be a chore. Still it'd be nice if there was a deck edit feature to keep the deck trimmed or tailor it to the colors of your opponents. The other concern that I have is the first expansion is $20 for a 40 cards play set worth of content. Now, I've dropped hundreds of dollars on games before and I know you can kinda grind the gold out (3000 for all three maps is a lot though), but I'm a little concerned that by this time next year there'll be a lot more expansions and the cost will add up. I'm also becoming bothered that on the rare times I win a complete arena run, I don't get enough coins for another entry. It's a fun game and worth trying but the concerns are there. Edited: Almost a year later and this is still my go to CCG app. Very stable except the occasional login issues. Gameplay is quick and smooth and very little of the hearthstone RNG. Not as toxic of a community either. My concerns about how expensive the game would be didn't happen as they've added some daily rewards to help with the grind. They've also made some quality of life improvements too. I should've upped this to 5 stars six months ago. Edit 2: They added in a card color mix count to the arena. Thanks!

It’s a pretty fun card game that requires strategy. However, it is a painfully slow process to get new cards. 6 cards cost 100 gold. You get 15 coins per level up and per every 3 victories. You also get a SINGLE card for each of those as well. And that card can be a repeat of something you already have. Story mode was a reliable method, but once you finish it (and the challenges) progress grinds to a slow trickle at best. You can buy more campaigns and challenges... but it cost 3000 coins for a full set (acts 1, 2, and 3 are 1000 each). Challenges are 1500 per set. Again you get money agonizingly slow in this game. There are daily quests too but the most I’ve gotten is 60 coins. Arenas are a solid option, BUT you need tickets to play them. The game gives you some, but you will run out leaving you going back to the slow grind. Now comes my biggest problem.... the micro transactions. Everything that is hard to unlock can be bought. Of course it can. And with how tedious it is to unlock these things in game, I can only conclude they WANT you to buy them. Not to mention that you can simply buy themed decks that have cards that would normally be difficult to get otherwise. They want your money. This is a fun game that has unfortunately been reduced to a greedy cash grab. I am very disappointed.

As you complete the story, you gain quests. These quests sometimes require you to win in order to claim rewards. Compared to the amount of RNG in those other "games" TESL's RNG is not a factor that decides the outcome of a battle. Strategy does. What minions you summon and where you place them on the board make a total difference. The only time you need to pray is when you need a Prophecy. Then it also depends on the type. It is NOT non-existent, but it is not something you NEED to rely on. So why is this game perfect and good even though I give it one star? They might not be copying HS and their style of gameplay, but it's still P2W. Something I truly despise. Trying to grind for the cards to win is a pain, even completing quests for gold is just stupid. I thought this game was flawless. It isn't. It's not perfect, it's not good, it's just better than most card games on the mobile/PC market, but still holds that tradition of draining your wallet empty for resources if you don't get what you need, and even then, you might not get enough crafting supplies for that ONE card. You either have the time to grind for cards, the money for buying packs and decks, or neither. If someone stuck a gun to your head and told you that you had to pick between playing HS, SV, Gwent, and TESL, pick TESL, otherwise stay away.

But I just can’t help but feel like a lot of matches are rigged. For example, against the AI, only two or three rounds into it you get lucky and draw a high - power card with no other cards in play (you are set to do a lot of damage next turn when he is available to attack). Well it so happens that once it’s the opponent’s turn he so happens to draw a card that scraps yours immediately without you getting the chance to use your high-power card. It was the only one the opponent had in its deck and it so happens that he drew it then. This type of stuff happens in almost EVERY match against the AI. They just seem to have the card that counters yours. Kinda frustrating. Also, often you are set against opponents that you don’t stand a chance against. They have many of the cards you would have to pay to get and unless you pay you would not stand a chance. Of course, if you pay to get nice cards they would just match you against someone with even better cards so you still don’t stand a chance. This game would be great if card draws were really random and player matchups were more balanced. I unfortunately has to delete the game to stop myself from falling into the endless pay-to-win trap. It’s really too bad because other that that this game would be great.

Let me explain: Let’s say you do very well at the game and don’t play often (or as often as the people “managing” the game want you to play it). You work a regular job, 40 hours a week roughly and have little grinds of gameplay here and there and everyone can agree when you play PvP you want to keep your rankings from dropping( let’s say 3 win to 1 losing streak) except I see that being the opposite. When I lose one I tend to go back to a deck that I consider a “fail safe” or “turn the tables” to keep my wins high to loses low. But I’ve been having a pattern that I’ll go on an even worse streak just because I want to maintain my ranking they( the “matchmakers”) then destroy any progress I’ve made and put me in matches that seem to “reset” my ranking to start all over again. This is not only cyber bullying but very frustrating to someone who wants to genuinely play the game smart and try new decks without compromising ranking. (CPUs are to straight forward with decks that only PvP experience helps to really tweak your deck as best you can). When I first started it’s obviously going to be a huge knowledge gap, but since playing for a good while I feel that they are “nerfing” me from progressing too fast. Please if you feel that you are feeling this way as well, write a review. We need your feedback so that they can seriously take changes to the game. I’m not impressed with this treatment. If you are treated the same, let them hear it.
