Description

Pick an angle, read the wind, fire, and watch the hill come apart. Boom Valley is turn based tank artillery for iPad. The tanks take turns, one shot each, and the last team standing wins. Pass the iPad around the table, or fill the empty seats with bots. The ground really breaks Every blast leaves the crater it made. Diggers bore tunnels you can hide in. Arches hold until someone shoots the wrong side of them. Cut a slab of ground loose and it falls on whoever is standing under it. By the last round the valley looks nothing like the one you started on. 25 weapons, a few of them silly Missiles, a baby nuke and a real one, a cluster shell that splits into five at the top of its arc, rollers that find the low ground, diggers, napalm, a laser the wind cannot bend, and dirt that buries a rival or builds you a wall. Then the silly five: a ram that trots off the way you threw it until you tap Boom, a crow that homes in on the nearest enemy, a rubber duck that bounces four times before it remembers it is a bomb, a flare that calls in an air raid, and an anvil that keeps going through the ground. Repair kits, shields and parachutes help on a bad day, and using one still leaves you your shot. Pass and play Up to four teams on one iPad, any mix of people and bots, and squads of up to four tanks a team on maps big enough for twelve. Pick the rules first: Beginner draws the full arc while you aim, Pro gives you 30 seconds and no guide, Artillery means nobody drives. Wind and water The wind changes every round and pushes the whole flight. Every valley is an island, so a near miss can throw a tank off the shore, and a tank in the water sinks. Five landscapes, from jungle hills to desert dust and frozen ridges, each in five shapes. A 12 battle campaign It starts with one rookie on one hill and ends twelve battles later against five tanks at once, in the valley the game is named after. Damage earns money, every win pays a bounty, and the armoury sells shells, kit and upgrades between battles, like a targeting computer that draws your whole arc. Six kinds of bots stand in the way, from the Rookie, who sprays and hopes, to the Sniper, who rarely needs a second shot. How it looks and sounds Pixel art in the spirit of the late 90s team artillery games. The blasts are real recordings layered by size, so a nuke sounds bigger than a missile. Everything plays offline, with no account. There are no ads and no in-app purchases. English. iPad, landscape.
