I never write reviews but I just had to for Houdini. I used another playlist transfer app upon my switch to Apple Music, but I went in to find short playlists, ...I never write reviews but I just had to for Houdini. I used another playlist transfer app upon my switch to Apple Music, but I went in to find short playlists, random songs missing and it was just a disaster. I deleted them all and installed Houdini. Well, it was just awesome. Found all my songs (even the weird obscure ones) and transferred them flawlessly in order and notified me of any it couldn’t find. I’m now fully transferred over and don’t have to worry that any songs are missing. The $2.99 price tag is also super economical, considering some of its competitors’ prices. Thanks for a great app!

usually, i don’t go out of my way to write reviews but this actually upset me. i was looking for songshift (very good app i recommend that instead) alternativ...usually, i don’t go out of my way to write reviews but this actually upset me. i was looking for songshift (very good app i recommend that instead) alternatives because they stopped allowing you to scan your songs for free. i found houdini and thought it was a good deal. .99 cents to transfer and update playlists, who wouldn’t take that? however, it doesn’t give you a free trial to see if it works, which is kinda shady but i didn’t mind it because it was only .99 cents. It won’t transfer any of my playlists -_-. whenever i click the “open in [insert streaming service]” button it tells me that there is an error. absolute waste of .99 cents. i will just stick to songshift and might even play 6 dollars in order to scan my playlists for new songs.

Houdini is definitely miles ahead of the other music streaming transfer apps (namely Stamp). Other apps tend to not transfer up to 40% of the songs. It's rare t...Houdini is definitely miles ahead of the other music streaming transfer apps (namely Stamp). Other apps tend to not transfer up to 40% of the songs. It's rare that Houdini doesn't transfer or at least find a similar match. My only issue is that when the songs transfer, they don't transfer with the artwork I had on my previous subscription. It also tends to shuffle the list so that they are not in the same order as my original playlist. All that said, it's definitely not the end of the world, and this is easily the best one to choose.

Then out of 33,000 songs, they can only transfer 5,000 due to their own limitations. Then out of 5,000 they can only make it in slots of 2,000 each. Then out of these 2,000 only 1,000 are available in the servers for transfering. Less than 3% of my library trasferred. That is not stated anywhere when you buy the app.

Previous purchasers left with useless app

I purchased this app in 2018. Back then, it was a one-time purchase. Since then, they’ve switched to a subscription model (as most apps have). That’s all fine, ...I purchased this app in 2018. Back then, it was a one-time purchase. Since then, they’ve switched to a subscription model (as most apps have). That’s all fine, but if apps do that, the respectable thing to do is to preserve the usefulness of the app for those who already paid. But instead, the restore purchases button does nothing and I’m stuck with an app that merely shows me a paywall. What a great waste of money! Additionally, I e-mailed their support about this a month ago - wanted to give a chance for them to make it right. But after a month, I still have not received a response, which just seems really unprofessional. Oh well - guess it’s back to manual playlist transfers 🤷🏻‍♂️

I’m very upset. When you first open the app it has you pick which source you want your playlists from and give them access to it. But then it won’t allow you to...I’m very upset. But then it won’t allow you to even try and see if it will transfer the playlists you want without paying. I like to copy my release radar playlists to another app since I don’t always get to listen all of it and if I don’t it’s gone forever. SongShift used to be able to do this but has stopped. Why then would I put money into something without knowing if it will actually do what I want. There should at least be one playlist trial and a way to disconnect my music account access without having to pay. Horrible biz ethos! Beyond disappointed.

Whenever I try to start a playlist transfer, it shows the playlist but ain’t sure the subs in it. Then it would just say “transfer error”. Absolute waste of .99 cents. I definitely think this app developer is a scammer as nobody who’s legit would have an app in the App Store that’s free to download but upon downloading are required to pay to even access the app or basic features. Basic features that were never intended to work since this app is a scam!

Save yourself the $0.99 and try a more reliable app. This one refers to an online FAQ to resolve the Apple Music problem… which just says some nonsense about Apple Music not being installed on the device. This is despite logging into the app using my apple information on an iPhone. A manual Apple Music login feature would be a nice workaround for the integration failure, if possible.
