This app utterly fails as a companion for the game. It’s only capability is the face scan feature, which seemed promising but ultimately did not function properly in my case. First off, while the face scan procedure seemed legit, it’s very frustrating because it will repeatedly fail. Then, when the app finally determines it successfully scanned your face (or perhaps it just gives up?), 2K24 will likely get stuck while downloading the data and the whole process must be repeated. Finally, after several more painful face scan attempts, passing the 50% stall point, 2K24 will probably issue an error saying it could find the face data. I was so excited for this feature but was let down. Such a tease. Is it because I’m Asian? Is this software racist yo? Can devs please get this thing working for 2K25? I hope face scan -> video game character becomes standard. NBA 2K has the opportunity to be the pioneers of this technology. Two stars because I appreciate the attempt.

The only reason this gets 2 stars is because it is a cool idea, otherwise, it’s a 1. Every time I scan my face I come out looking like Elmer Fudd (I’m not even bald). I’d also like to add that the scan takes like 10 minutes and looks nothing like me. Half the time, my hair colors wrong, the other half, they don’t give me hair at all. There is nothing to compliment because this is basically the only feature. By the way, I’ve come to notice that the company does not respond to any reviews. Irresponsible.

I’ll preference this with saying that I have been out of the 2k loop for a while now thought the game got very stagnate around 2k17 I don’t hate the game I love...I’ll preference this with saying that I have been out of the 2k loop for a while now thought the game got very stagnate around 2k17 I don’t hate the game I love basketball and for a lot that 2k gets wrong I think they get basketball pretty fast forward to today for the first time in about 8-9 years I decided to get back on the rollercoaster that is nba 2k I haven’t had the companion app in years and knew you could use it to do face scans I think that cool so imagine my surprise to find out that not only can I not get into the app everytime I try to face scan I get rejected by the an “internet disconnected” screen now I don’t have the best WiFi out there but it’s never failed me when using my phone other than a strong storm power outage so I guess I’m more confused than anything that MULTI-BILLON DOLLAR COMPANY CANT EVEN GET A PHONE APP RIGHT

These vc prices are insane 200 + real dollars to upgrade to 90 overall 😂 not to mention the servers are trash and there’s no support system because 2k support doesn’t even help you anymore. Now we have this app why does it take 10 minutes just to look like a swamp thing from ben10. This app is 9 years old and they literally have never updated or fixed the bugs. There’s better server maintenance in gta 5 and that games like 13 years old.

And there’s still no way to see your face scan on the app, you have to load up 2k to see how terrible it came out. Not to mention it takes 10 minutes for it to actually find your face and scan it, all for there to be a huge black mark on your face scan always. Face scan has been around since 2k15 and not only have there been no improvements in 9 years, it’s gotten progressively worse.

I’ve been trying to do a face scan for about a whole 24 hours… I downloaded the app on both my iPhone phone and Mac, the app on my phone constantly loads and ha...I’ve been trying to do a face scan for about a whole 24 hours… I downloaded the app on both my iPhone phone and Mac, the app on my phone constantly loads and hasn’t loaded yet when I try to sign into my PSN account to do the face scan, then on my Mac I actually get to sign into my PSN but then the face scan feature constantly loads and eventually I have to force quit the app… I usually don’t complain or even leave reviews at that but yeah as much as money as 2K makes yearly, they definitely should have the money and resources to fix and update the app to where it actually works properly!

Between my personal scans as well as the drippy scans. All have worked great and the result has been amazing. You just have to be in the proper lighting. I’d say either try in the natural sunlight or daylight or use your in home lighting in combination with a fluorescent bulb. You’ll get the best scans possible.
